Pavla Kopecna joined Ladbury PR two years ago to develop the agency with Rebecca Ladbury, following stints on digital media projects with Channel 4, freelance film and photography commissions and a fashion editor role at Clash Magazine.<\/p>\n

She has since immersed herself in the world of communications and media strategy, becoming a key member of the Ladbury family and a respected public relations consultant across media, technology, games and arts projects. Here she talks to Gorkana about admiring CJ Cragg, her junior tennis past and PR credibility in the future\u2026<\/p>\n

The thing that gets me up in the morning is\u2026<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe lingering threat of the to do list.<\/p>\n

What made me want to get into PR was\u2026<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe power of the media for better or worse, and hoping PR could help the \u2018better\u2019 bit.<\/p>\n

\nThe perception that PR is able to change facts and directly and immediately drive business profits. It\u2019s not about manipulating the truth or generating income, but the right kind of communication to the relevant audience.<\/p>\n

\nDee Dee Myers, Bill Clinton\u2019s press secretary. She just hit the ground running.<\/p>\n

The three things I demand in my colleagues\u2026<\/em><\/strong>
\nAccountability, a sense of perspective and common sense.<\/p>\n

The characteristic I most dislike in people is\u2026<\/em><\/strong>
\nBlatant hypocrisy.<\/p>\n

I laugh most at\u2026<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe Simpsons<\/em> and Father Ted<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The PR figure I most admire is\u2026<\/em><\/strong>
\nShe\u2019s a work of fiction, but how could you not admire CJ Cregg (The West Wing<\/em>), her heart was in the right place and her head was firmly screwed on. I don\u2019t know if a real equivalent exists, but if they do I\u2019d love to meet them.<\/p>\n

The most interesting fact about me is\u2026<\/em><\/strong>
\nI used to be a junior tennis player, reaching the dizzy heights of top 10 in Czech Republic\u2019s under 12 rankings.<\/p>\n

\nI don\u2019t get the printed versions so much these days, but when I do, it\u2019s the FT<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The finest moment in my career so far is\u2026<\/em><\/strong>
\nGetting a speculative story rightly dropped due to lack of robust research.<\/p>\n

\nToo many to mention; forgetting names, calling the wrong numbers, falling over\u2026you live and learn.<\/p>\n

\nIt won\u2019t be social media as we know it at all \u2013 we\u2019re beginning to see a real reaction against it.<\/p>\n
